Training – Exploring WordPress

Just a quick note to thank UEA and Jarrold Training in Norwich for the brilliant day today exploring WordPress; something I would heartily recommend for anyone thinking of setting up a blogsite – attend this before you do.

To be honest, at the start of the day, I thought it might be too simplistic and easy, but I’m delighted to say this was not at all the case. With only eight pupils, a dedicated trainer for the day, our own PCs all set up and ready to go, there was no stopping us; we moved from an initial overview into getting started with WP, creating and managing both Posts and Pages, setting up sub-pages, organising content, uploading files and images, and finally linking videos from YouTube and other sources – something I have wanted to do for some time now.

There were plenty of questions from attendees throughout the day, and the final and very nice surprise was that each of us received a copy of “WordPress – the missing manual”; absolutely brilliant, as this is something I probably should have purchased myself as its sure to be of considerable help as an ongoing reference in the future.

Once again many thanks to Charlie at Jarrolds and Sarah and Ruth at UEA.
